1974, "Funny Cars" were really becoming popular. Monogram
wanted to do a series in Snap-Tite form for beginning modelers.
We developed a common, interchangeable "chassis", then I designed
stretched, chopped or whatever car bodies to fit. I thought
the Chevy Vega had a nice looking compact car body...and it
became especially neat looking with the looong, stretched
hood line on this kit. "EARTHQUAKE" was a natural name for
a Funny Car, and Hey, I'm from California!
